Although I normally post upcoming movies and reviews, I have an opinion on everything and right now sushi is in severe need of a critique. Today I went to my favorite sushi bar [Sushito – Lima, Peru], and was reminded of how much I do not like cream cheese in my sushi! I love my Philadelphia Cream Cheese smeared all over my bagel, but it does not belong wrapped in the middle of my maki. It’s just not authentic. That’s all. I don’t have many complaints on my beloved sushi, but…..really cream cheese?
This movie was amazing! I die! I do not know what took me so long to watch it. Watched it for the my Catholicism class and oh man did I have fun analyzing it! I love analyzing movies! Obvi! Two words: Johnny Depp. Kinda forgot how hot he was!
While I was watching it, I got a huge craving for chocolate. Hmm… wonder why? Luckily I had some Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Squares stashed away…sshhh.
In 1959, Vianne and her daughter Anouk guided by the North Wind drift into a small french village wearing their red cloaks and open a chocalterie….during lent. The conservative town are either curious or appalled. Soon Vianne has captured the town, takes in an abused wife, reunites families, delights a dying diabetic, and stands up to the strict Mayor. Vianne has a knack for guessing peoples favorite chocolate, but upon the arrival of the Irish river gypsies she finds her match. Roux. But can the North Wind pull Vianne and Anouk away from this town…?
One of my favorite quotes from this movie is by the Pere Henri:
“I don’t want to talk about His divinity. I’d rather talk about His humanity. I mean, you know, how he lived his life here on Earth. His kindness. His tolerance. Listen, here’s what I think. I think we can’t go around… measuring our goodness by what we don’t do. By what we deny ourselves… what we resist, and who we exclude. I think we’ve got to measure goodness… by what we embrace… what we create… and who we include.”
My new obsession. I wanna go watch a movie at the Magic Lantern and drink my hazelnut latte! WHY did I not drink these before??? Tryin’ out the Irish Creme next…
